Tut went for his annual check-up and shots yesterday with his new doctor, Dr. Bob. The vet's office is a little different as you don't make an appointment rather you just go to the office hours and are seen. He was so good, but they still muzzled him because of his breed any way...but he didn't need it. He actually leaned up against the Vet Tech while we were talking, and that never happens.
It was certainly a learning experience...I have been medicating him for heart worms, ticks, and fleas for the last nine months and two of those don't even exist here. Germany is not home to heart worms and fleas, but they do have ticks...just not the kind I was medicating him for. Nice. So instead he only needs one worm pill a year for prevention and a special tick med called ex-pat, which I find very fitting since he is one. It wasn't all wonderful as he had to get a second microchip that is standard for the EU...and Tut yelped a sad little yelp and of course made me feel bad.
The best part of our trip is that Tut was awarded an EU passport for travel so we don't have to take his US papers everywhere. And I also can take him with me to the States without getting USDA papers to bring him back. So this means he gets to go and see Grandma and Grandpa and spend some time running free in their backyard with the squirrels and bunnies. He will be so happy!!!
Here he is with his new EU passport!
Auf Wiedersehen!

That is hilarious. I was just retelling the story from Step training. "Drop the pon, Tut!" Good stuff.
Okay... that's it. If Tut has a passport, I must get one.
Yes Kelly, and then you can use it to come and visit before we go back!!!!
