Weekend Update

We have had really nice weather lately and we are very happy and very thankful for it so we spent a lot of time outside this weekend. Friday night we went out to dinner at a Mexican place in the zentrum and then met some friends out at a salsa place in the bahnhof called Zapattos. It was fun and the drinks were good, but TJ and I are not the best Latin dancers. We have one move with a turn and that is it. But it was still fun!
Saturday was more my style with an afternoon with TJ and Tut hiking in Heidelberg. TJ was practicing his photography so we got some good ones. Here is a shot of the city as it sits on the Neckar River.

We hiked up the main path that is quite daunting to get to the forest and made sure we found an alternative way down. We didn't stick to the main paths as they were a little crowded at times. But there is some really beautiful stuff up there. You can really see that Spring is coming with it turning so green and seeing the new buds on the trees. This was one of Tut's favorite clearings...

Here we are on a trail to the Philosphenweg (Philosophers Way) which has over a hundred kilometers of pathing. Here is a good one of T and Tut on some rock like steps...

Tut was in heaven the entire day...he loved it up there and almost policed it as he wanted to know where everyone was going and what they were doing. He loved the scent that he found in this sea of leaves...

He also lives up to his name from time to time. He saw this stump in the clearing and immediately jumped on top to look over the forest. He is so funny sometimes!

This was at the bottom of the previous hill. It was so nice and sunny...about 68 degrees.

Then we headed down a steep spot to a lane that had giant and amazing houses that were built up from it. They were really awesome! The lane took us down to the river where Tut and I found a nice little look out spot.

We made our way to the Hauptstrasse to grab a beer and enjoy more of the sun. There were a ton of people out! We all sat in the outdoor seating area right on the strasse and people watched. Tut dog watched as there seemed to be a dog pass by every two minutes. He was in heaven! We were a little tired in the early evening when we got home so we layed around and watched a movie. It was nice as it stays light out until about 8:30 pm.
Sunday was nothing special we just hung out around here. Today I have been attempting to get things prepared for the McCarthy's to arrive on Thursday and will probably continue to do that until they come, and then it is off to Amsterdam on Friday for the long weekend. We can't wait!!!
Later today I hope to get out to take some photos of Seckenheim in the Spring to post as it promises to be another beautiful day!
Auf Wiedersehen!
