House Update

It has been brought to my attention that I have been neglecting my readers in the past weeks, so for this I am sorry but I have been just a little busy. We closed on the 26th of Marc and had the ceiling guys in on the 27th...they sort of finished on the 31st. When the guys were finished and I entered my kitchen I completely lost it as there was a ton of popcorn mixed with a good amount of dried drywall mud stuck to my beautiful hardwood floors and when they walked on it it scratched all over. I was devastated as the kitchen was originally to be the least amount of work for us with just a coat of paint and new appliances. Then a friend of ours came over to tell us that ceilings weren't even right as they hadn't gotten some of the popcorn all the way off. We were a little upset, thus the job is being disputed. So we got off to a not so good of a start.
Since then we have been painting, cleaning, changing switches and recepticals (and their covers), got new carpet, had some trees hauled out, hung some lights, put in recessed lighting...and the list goes on. And get this...we aren't even completely done with any room yet! And that is why I haven't posted any pictures, because I want to post befores and afters because it will be like night and day. The kitchen should be done by Friday and maybe the great room will be done before that, we see. The bedrooms are nearly finished, but we had to take all the doors off the hinges because we wanted to change the hardware and paint them white...so maybe that can be done by weeks end too. Who knows! It feels like we may never be done! More later...
